Day -53: Preparing for My Camino de Santiago

Updated: Mar 29, 2023

May 27, 2018

I completed a 15.73 training hike on the C&O Canal Towpath in preparation for my Camino de Santiago. It was another hot and humid day. I parked at Carderock and proceeded east. As I approached the Beltway there were many Rolling Thunder bikers traveling south on the Beltway and as I waved they waved back. Cool. I also ran into runners for the Strides for Cancer. I started with 4.5 pints of water and one of the runners begged me for water. I gave him 1.5 pints. I might have saved his life. But seriously, I figured I could complete my training hike but did wish I had it over my last three miles.

With regards to the photo, I didn't take any photos today but am sharing this photo that was taken on 4/28/18 on one of my training hikes on the C&O Canal. Have a great Memorial Day weekend!
