Day 0: Preparing for My Camino de Santiago

Updated: Mar 29, 2023

July 19, 2018

I left Paris this morning on a train to Bayonne. The original plan was to transfer to another train for Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. We left on time and there were no delays but all of a sudden we were told we would arrive in Bayonne 20 minutes later than planned. I managed to catch a bus and arrived here later than originally planned. The photo you see is in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port.

Tomorrow is the official beginning of MY WALK. Unfortunately, the forecast for the next 48 hours is for rain. I had hoped for nice weather through the Pyrenees but the Camino is giving me rain. This will then be my first gift on the WALK and I will gladly accept it.

By the way, I decided to spend tonight in my first albergue. I know this will challenge me but it is my intent to stay in albergues most nights. Again, there is probably a gift waiting to be discovered for me. Like I said earlier, I intend to immerse myself in the Camino de Santiago.
